Split song royalties, Rialo pays every writer
ChorusPay shares a song's income between its writers. Give each writer a percent, lock the split at exactly 100 percent and pick a payout time. When it comes, Rialo pays every writer their exact share on its own.
Try it live
Split a real testnet payout in about a minute
Everything runs on the public Rialo testnet with free test coins. No real money is involved.
Step 1Get free test coins
This browser gets its own test wallet. Press the button and the testnet faucet sends you 1 $RIALO.
You can also get test $RIALO from the faucet in Rialo's own Playground at playground.rialo.io.
Step 2Set the split
Each writer gets a fresh test address made in this browser. You can paste your own Rialo testnet address instead.
Step 3Pay everyone on Rialo
Choose how much to share and when. On testnet the split program holds the amount, and one payment per writer is registered with Rialo's scheduler.
Up to 0.5 test $RIALO. Odd amounts show how the last kelvin is handled.
Each writer's share
Lock the split to see each writer's exact share.
Lock the split first.
Payouts
Nothing scheduled yet. Lock the split and press Pay everyone.
Live timeline
Each step appears here as it happens, with a link to check it on the testnet.
Advanced
The wallet key is created and kept in this browser only. On testnet the pool sits in the split program, not in this key. Test coins have no value. Amounts are shown in $RIALO. On chain, 1 $RIALO is 1,000,000,000 kelvin, the smallest unit, and every share is a whole number of kelvin.
In three steps
Set the split, lock it, Rialo pays
- Track 01
Set the split
Add two to five writers and give each one a percent.
- Track 02
Lock at 100 percent
The split only locks when the shares add up to exactly 100 percent. Not 99.9, not 100.1.
- Track 03
Rialo pays everyone
At the payout time Rialo sends each writer their exact share on its own. One scheduled payment per writer, each one you can check on testnet.
Built on Rialo
Why does this need Rialo?
Royalties are paid on a schedule. On most blockchains someone has to run a bot to start each payout, and if the bot stops, the writers wait. Rialo has a scheduler built into the chain. ChorusPay puts the pool in our split program and registers one payment per writer, once. When the time comes Rialo calls the program and each writer gets their share. It is the same building block that ClinicDesk, GearLock and HarvestBox use for their deadlines.
- A split that does not add up to 100 percent can never be locked
- The shares add up to the exact total, down to the smallest unit
- No browser key holds the pool
- One public testnet transaction per writer that anyone can check
